One of my favorite things about being back in the Philippines is all the fresh fruit that is available. I should also say all the organic fruit that is available in the open markets on the side of the street. In my limited Tagalog, I would purchase fruit for our family, but I was never quite comfortable enough to bargain with them nor did I feel right about taking a few pennies from their livelihood when they clearly needed it more than I did.
