Christmas Day For Our Family.

I made an effort to maintain as many family traditions as possible for our first Christmas in Hong Kong. We had the matching pajama sets for the kids which they open on Christmas Eve. We made it to the candlelight service at our church the evening of the twenty-fourth, and even continued our tradition of fondue after the service. We missed having our kid's godparents to share our fondue meal with us.

Christmas morning, the kids exchanged presents with each other, we ate our traditional strata meal, had a small birthday cake for Jesus {because for our family the birth of Christ is the reason we celebrate Christmas}, had a Skype date with family in North America, and then friends came over to drop food off so we could go to the cinema to watch the new Disney movie "Big Hero Six". We spent the evening with our friends, drinking raspberry moscow mules and champagne, eating a great dinner, and spending hours in conversation.

It was a perfect Christmas Day, and though we missed eating our strata with the kids grandparents, and seeing friends, the holiday in a new country seemed more relaxed and not as hectic as it has been in previous years.
