Roast Duck For Dinner.

We had our first authentic sit down at a restaurant kind of meal here in Hong Kong today. The authentic kind of meal where everything on the menu was written in Chinese characters and we were looking around the restaurant trying to find pictures on the wall to point to so we could communicate with our server as we placed our order. The authentic kind of restaurant with whole ducks and chickens hanging from the window at the kitchen.

Hot tea was placed at the table as soon as we sat down. By the end of the meal our servers were offering us lychee fruit from their own meals and joking around with our kids.

Our family has been living off of peanut butter sandwiches, bananas, and apples since we arrived in Hong Kong. Not because we don't like the food here, but because it's economical and we're on a tight budget until we pay for our kid's school year and get our housing situation settled. Eating a full meal was such a welcome break for my husband and I!
