A Myrtle Beach Family Vacation.

My family came down from Canada and Philadelphia for a week of vacation here in Myrtle Beach. Since we live where everyone loves to vacation, it was perfect. My parents rented a house, and our family got the opportunity to spend some quality time together before we move. The cousins got to play together, my adorable niece and nephew learned to ride my daughter's bike, and they got to experience the ocean for the very first time.

We beached every day as well as taking day trips to different tourist spots. We went out and visited Huntington State Park and Brookgreen Gardens. We ate at our favorite restaurants along the Grand Strand. We packed picnic lunches and cooked dinners at home. And in-between all the fun, my husband broke his toe, leaving him to hobble his way through the remainder of the vacation.

I loved seeing the relationships develop between the four cousins. My brother and his wife have a set of twins who are 3 years old. My daughter and my niece were fast friends. And my nephew looked up to his seven year old cousin.

As you can tell from the photographs I took, we basically lived in our swimsuits. We ended the vacation with a trip to Krispy Kreme doughnuts with the kids. The "Hot Doughnuts Now" sign was flashing and it was a perfect way to finish up a sweet beach vacation. This was such a needed break from all the busyness of packing and end of the school year that we've been experiencing. It was also so lovely being with my family one final time before we fly over the big ocean to Hong Kong.
