We are in to the season of Advent right now. Back in the United States, when we attended a Methodist church, the lighting of the advent candles during the service on Sunday morning always came with pomp and circumstance. Two years out from attending a liturgical church, we still participate in the daily advent calendar leading up to Christmas day. For our family, it is a gentle reminder what the real reason we celebrate Christmas is all about.
