Even with living in another country, I like to keep as many holiday traditions alive from year to year for our family. This year we invited several friends over for a gingerbread house decorating party. We purchased the kits from Ikea and our friends brought over the candy. We divided up into three groups and used four kits between us. Our group tried to recreate Hong Kong's famous Bank of China landmark, while my son and his Uncle Zander worked on a version of Big Ben. My daughter was able to convince her partner, Auntie Andrianna, into decorating a more traditional Christmas gingerbread cottage. Our creations were nothing fancy or award winning, but it was a great night with much laughter, cocktails, and pasta.
