With the summer holiday in full swing now, we are trying to make the most of our time here. Back in Myrtle Beach, we loved going bowling as a family, we have been wanting to bowl here in Hong Kong, we just haven't had the time to take advantage of the sport. Summer vacation provided us with the perfect opportunity to don some rented bowling shoes and to work on our spin.
We were pleasantly surprised to see they had size 15 shoes for my husband to wear. We never know what to expect in an Asian country, but it seems like Hong Kong is equipped to rent out shoes for men with big feet!
We only bowled one game with only my husband breaking 100. The kids alternated between actually bowling the proper way and using a bowling ramp, which is an extra machine that helped them point the bowling ball in the right direction.
The kids were ecstatic to be bowling again. It's little things like these that make us feel like life here in Hong Kong is "normal" or at least more familiar to life back in the United States. Bowling for our family is an homage to what we would do back where my children call home. And for them, that is important.
