Shopping Mall Ship.

When we first arrived in Hong Kong, my husband's new job took us on a tour of Hong Kong. We were shown the area of Whampoa Garden's and were surprised to see a giant ship on land, in the middle of high rise apartment buildings. We later discovered that the giant ship holds a shopping mall inside.

I am impressed with the variety of shops and restaurants that Whampoa Garden's has to offer. It has a very Western vibe to their restaurants... Outback Steakhouse, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken. But the apartment buildings that surround the giant ship are older and run down, with a very local feel to them. Somehow the restaurants and the movie theatre seem a bit out of place with the state of the apartment buildings that are above them.

We took a quick walk through the ship in search of Outback Steakhouse. We walked through the ground floor which holds a large department store in the ship, called Aeon. There are multiple levels to the ship, but we did not do too much exploring.
