Hanging Your Dirty Laundry Out To Dry.

With no private yards in Hong Kong and many people not having a dryer for their laundry, the next solution is to hang their clothing and sheets outside of their apartment windows. When we first arrived here in August, it shocked me to see laundry hanging many feet above the ground, out of apartment buildings. I've since become accustomed to it, but I still wonder how the clothing stays up there and doesn't blow down to the ground. Not all apartment buildings allow people to hang their clothing off of the windows and balconies. For example, our apartment building specifies no clothing or laundry being hung outside in the Home Owner's Association Manual. It's primarily older buildings that still allow people to hang out their clothes off the sides of the building.
